Gorgeous... really need to do mine too

Did you velcro your numberplates yourself? or did it come from the dealers like that?

i velcro'd the plates on as i have a set of legal ones (only put them on if i go down the seafront as coppers are nobs down there) and a set of illegal ones that are on 98% of the time.

Yours will be sorted as soon as the weather looks up, names on the list.

:approve: :approve: you still want to then?? it would be very very much appreciated! maybe before the FCS or something?

Guy: i also took my plates off and velcro'd mine a few months ago... took me HOURS, what a b**ch of a job, dunno why Renault stick so much of that gooey double sided crap on them..

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y99/Boobles/My%20Cars/CarPics013.jpg - Very old pic of it after it was done... i can now swap between my normal plates and my show ones :) http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y99/Boobles/My%20Cars/CarPics014.jpg great for track days and shows

yeah took me ages with bug and tar remover getting all the sticky pad s**t off.
plates have been on and off with this car. dunno how originals were fixed, but then the first owner had private plate on sticky pads. then he put originals back on with screws (nasty f**king hole sin tailgate and bumper :() then i put mine on with sticky pads for a bit, then cleaned them up and velcro'd them.

matty - i used the detailer spray

getting a bit low now though so when it runs out will fill it back up with soapy water.

Will be claying mine next weekend, followed by a good coat of P21 wax:D, hope I don't mess the paintwork up, never clayed it b4, look forward to results though.

  No more clio's for me!
Mine could do with some of the clay treatment....i'm a complete clay novice, so...

What is it....where can i get it from...how do you apply it/take it off?

Not a problem. As soon as the weather looks good for a weekend we shall get it sorted. To cold to do any real polishing at the moment still, I need a bigger garage.

Got to change my plates over in the next few weeks, not looking foward to seeing how much tape Renualt have put on them!

This should help m8. What i've gathered is that the main thing to remember when claying is to use plenty of the detailer spray or lots of soapy water, then you can't go wrong. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17

Looks spot on. And they do look mean with no front plate.

I've just washed mine and really wanted to wax it as it's looking really dull, but it's just too damp now. I'll try and do it tomorrow afternoon, if it's not too cold and I can melt it in my hands I'll get the Zymol out, if not it's NXT.

You local Halfords may have the Meguiars kit.

I went down to mine today and picked up some NXT shampoo and wax as I couldn't be arsed with Zymol in this weather. Really impressed with it.

If I get time tomorrow I'm going to HD cleanse it, Zymol it then maybe top up with some NXT wax. Of course we all know there's very little chance of me doing all that.

I would do the HD cleanse, then the NXT before your Zymol Lee. The NXT has some light cleners in it which will cut through the wax. Also the Zymol Carnuba after the NXT will add to the look.

Get to it tommorrow! Stop being slack. As a one step product the NXT will work well if you are feeling lazy ;) as it cleans and protects all in one.

R-jay, i usually use my dads Kitchen Factory to wax my car... its clean and dry inside, means you can lye down and get into all those hard to reach places... radio on, following tea... its great :)

Right, I'll do that then Jay, at the very least I'll use the NXT.

Nice one, If you can do the HD cleanse before it will be worth it, but if not the NXT will do good as a one step. Then you could always at the Zymol after the next wash.
