Welcome to the club.
I really struggled to find one which had the belts done, dealers worse than private sellers for this it seems.
All cars need cam belts done at some point (except the rare few with chains but chains can go wrong too), some you can do more miles/years on and some less. Seems like these are more likely to fail if you don't do it but you don't want to risk it on any car worth more than the cost of getting it done. They can go completely without warning.
Go through all receipts and service book and if it's never had a belt done that's somewhat worrying. They can go due to time alone, regardless of whether it's only done a few miles.
Just because I went to see one and it was awful, this on has been looked after so well its had a lady owner for the last 7 years
>lady owner
>what are timing belts??
This is why "lady owner" sets of alarm bells for most petrol heads, meaningless drivel at best.
Do the world a favour and get it done right, get it well documented, clear description of all the work, by a specialist, be sure to pass it on when you sell the car.
In the long run it'll probably work out cheaper to get all of it done at once or they'll have to charge you labour for each time they have to dismantle the car to get at a belt/pulley/tensioner.
Aux belt is worth doing if you're unsure because if it goes it can take even a brand new cam belt out with it.
