Just got pulled over!!

Just heading back to my house driving through Purley and got pulled by the lovely (gay)boys in blue!!

Was coming down from the Purley Way and pulled into the lane behind them, music was a bit loud and I could see the driver looking in his rear view at me.

Pulled off at the lights and get to part of the road which has two lanes merging into one. Still following them with a people carrier to my right but a bit behind so I carry on driving and the c**t in a Ford Galaxy will not let me merge in front even though Im 3/4 cars length ahead, so I just put my foot down slightly, went ahead (and the c**t beeps the horn at me). Dont ask me why the guy in the Ford wouldnt let me go.

The police go down the same turning as me and I get an arm out of the window to tell me to pull over. He says I take it you know why weve pulled you over. Im thinking well I wasnt speeding but I assume it was the tw*t in the Ford!!!

He proceeds to lecture me that it was actually the other guys right of way coz he was on the outside!! Also tells me to chill out and that they were first alerted to me because I pulled up behind them quickly. Apart from the fact that I was within the speed limit.

The one talking to me was pretty reasonable but the other one was a jumped up ginger t**ser!!! One goes Youve got a nice car here so I wont do any checks on it, Ive no doubts that it is your car.

To be honest it made me feel like a complete criminal as the little ginger one runs up and tells me to take the keys out of the ignition and hand them over.

Completely unecessary and the guy in the Ford will probably continue to drive like a prick and more than likely cause and accident!!!!

Wish we didnt have them - then the UK would be a better place to live.......................

The two lanes merge together, there is no line or anything. The Ford drive was just being a prick but since I was the one ahead and the one who caught the polices eye they picked on me.

I think they wanted some reason to check out wether I was trouble or not and could see I was perfectly reasonable. I think if Id had a different attitude they would probably have searched the car, checked the tax/insurance etc and given me a load of hassle.

I felt harrassed more than anything and very tempted to write a complaint about the whole thing.

I am a local boy by the way Adamf, live toward Kenley!!

I have NEVER been asked to pull my keys out of the ignition and hand them over(and ive been pulled over once or twice over the years *cough* )

They robbed my keys once but its cos they thought the car was stolen with the way I was driving it...............................(And it was a Nova SR)

Apart from the whole keys out of the ignition bit which I thought was really unecessary.

What got me was that they had no real point to why they pulled me over. Im sure they were hoping for an excuse to search me or the car etc!!

Do you know how some of the most violent dangerous and wanted criminals are caught? Simple stop checks!

You obviously drew a little bit of attention to yourself and at the end of the day would it have harmed you to decrease your speed and allow the Ford to pass and slip in behind?

Agree handing over the keys is OTT and believe the Officer would need to justify that.

At end of the day you were reasonable and personable and they let you jog on. If youd have been a dick all you wouldve gained wouldve been a HORT/1

I was done with "Making off from a marked patrol" ooopsy! That ended up with armed police and keys from ignition and me against a brick wall.... ah well we all learn!
