Just got the call......

  1.2 TCE Clio Dynamique S
My first clio (sounds like a fisher-price toy!) is being delivered to the dealership the week 28th of April-2nd of May.

1.2 TCE Dynamique S

In black. The only other option was the climate control.

3 doors.

3 weeks to go. I can't wait.

Not many newer clio's on here. But I'll have one.

I'll give you pictures when it comes.

I haven't noticed many new clios on the road either. I keep trying to spot them to point them out to the missus. Perhaps they are so ugly no-one else wants them. Or perhaps other people just don't see them the same way I do.

I am hopeing that some more developement into the TCE engine are in the works. I'm looking at it, perhaps in the wrong way, as the same as a Renault 5 GT Turbo. I'm guessing the Twingo GT is more like but I'll be happily pretending my clio is all whizz-bang!

As I've posted about it before, the 1.2 TCE engine is turbo charged as standard. It produces 100bhp out of the box which is only a handful less than my current Laguna.

I'm looking forward to the lower road tax, the lower petrol costs and the push-button start with key-card entry.

Have some!

You will have to be spending quite a bit of money if your talking GT 5 territory matey.

No airbags,power steering etc etc

It will never be a Renault 5 GT Turbo due to it being 100% Safer!

:D

But the original GTTurbo was only 120..... I'm sure that an extra 10-15% could be had from a remapp and a boost increase...

Not that I'm looking for that. I'll be more than happy with the 100bhp....for a while anyway.

yeh it only had 120bhp, but it weighed less than a biscuit tin. the mk3 clio is heavy.

This is why i disagree to spending thousands upon thousands to make a car go faster than Renault intended, if i wanted more power id have bought a faster car.

f**k stripping seats and interior out not for me

I'm not trying to make a R5GTT, I was just likening the car to one (a small car with a turbo engine). But also note I did say that it wasn't the greatest of analogies.

Chill!

I wont be removing the interior, losing the spare wheel ETC to make the car go fast. I plan to drive as-is until I find a mod that will do a good job and they I'll have a play with that.

And I don't agree with the 'go faster' thing people mention above.

I can have a car that I want to go faster.

I used to have a VW beetle. It had a 1300cc engine. I wanted it to go faster so I built a 1641cc engine. It went faster. I wanted that to go faster so a 1776cc engine went in.

Should I have sold it when the 1300cc engine wasn't fast enough and bought a golf GTI? Well yes, it would have been cheaper, but then I'd have not been driving round in a bug.

Speeds costs, how far do you want to go?

I hope everyone does try to push the boundaries of the cars they have. I can see people lower thier cars on here by more than what a usual 'handling improvement' would be.

Do you same people say, "You want a lower car, by a lower car don't just make your car lower."

Its all good from Wiltsteve-land.

I'll let you know how it goes.

My friend has one of these - nice little car :) I'd imagine in a few months someone will release a remap to give you like, 120bhp or something. Ok, it won't be fast, but it'll be nicer to drive - and they are very comfy and hers seems pretty economical - 35mpg average and she only does about 2 miles stop start a day so it never really gets warm.

  Mk3 SX
Went for the new model myself, very pleased with it, very smooth drive. I went for the DCI SX 106hp six speed which has the bodykit as standard. I see a few new models about but never seen one the same as mine yet. More than happy with it and i'm sure you'll love yours when you pick it up.

Nearly went for the diesel and part of me wishes I did for the fuel economy.

the only problem is that ALL the diesels I've ever driven require you to change gear at the exact moment you've finally managed to find the power!

I've not seen perhaps 5 new shape clio's in the past month. None of them were Dynamique S.

I just wish they had put a 6 speed box on the TCE engine. It think the reason they didn't is they allowed for higher power in 3 & 4th gear. With a 6 speed box, where do you put that?

:)

I also got the call last week, and collected a 197 Cup today.
A lovely car.

they had a renault sport megane parked up when I bought mine. It looked the Dogs Danglies (except the arse-end) but with it came a heafty premium.

Heh, never goes over 3k revs usually, so I'm sure it'll be alright. And she'll chop it in at 3 years old anyway.

Mine performs best in 3rd and 4th. 6th just makes it more comfortable when cruising at speed, not boosting all the time.

BTW black FTW. :)
