Just had the cup pack argument

  Black/Gold 182
With direct line, was told I couldn't be insured even though I would be able if I had bought an actual cup (surely that'd be more risk?!?!?). Thought I was in the s**t too as I have one month left on my current insurance and needed to change the car. But the lovely people at Admiral said I could have my 2 years no claim even though I was one month short. Definately won't be going back to DL ever again.

Spoiler and Suspension, yeah probably shouldn't have said anything but wanted to be sure, was actually gonna change companies to admiral in a month anyway so actually worked out quite well.

Mine has the cup body kit on and i told the insurance that it was factory standard.

I'm with DL: and I've told them about it.

I've told them that the std car has a spoiler - which is replaced by a different shape one at the factory.

I've told them about the cup suspension - factory-fit sports suspension (harder but bot lower than std).

Ive told privilege and ive even got the alloys as being listed as different as they wanted details. All says factory fit and was no extra cost and privilege is the same company as DL.

I would try and get a refund for sure for your months lost cover!!

will do definately when I cancel it, the fact that they are factory fit apparently doesn't make a difference, it's because they're an optional extra and apparently they can take exception to anything other than the base model.

When I bought my 182 last year I was insured with Elephant. They insisted on calling my 182 with cup packs modified, and charged me extra because I had the cup packs.
When my renewal was due I tried a few different insurance companies for quotes. Elephant and Sainsbury's came out at about the cheapest, so I emailed Sainsbury's Insurance asking them on their policy on the Cup packs... They sent me an email confirming that they didn't class the packs as a modification, and so it didn't affect the premium. Needless to say Elephant lost me as a customer, and Sainbury's gained me. Also Elephant charge if you have to insure a courtesy car, Sainsbury's don't!
