Have a look in the show room/studio...Then sign up in your local area and get yourself along to a meet.

Make good use of the search, alot of your questions will no doubt have been covered in the past, theres a wealth of info on it. Good luck

last time i looked, there was a fascinating thread about some guy who'd 'detailed' his new shoes. they were pretty shiny anyway.

seriously, there's loads of info on there - you WILL be spending lots of money before the novelty wears off (if it does)!

As you're not going to buy a machine polisher, check out Dave KG's hand polishing thread

Also threads on good wash technique etc!

read the guides, but the rest is all crap tbh.
You just end up buying loads of pap from odd Scots.

I find DW a good browse if you're bored. Having said that, I did just spend £170 on cleanyourcar.

I used to wash my car with a sponge.

well ive spent a few hours reading the guides mainly. there is some real.....experience on there!

cant say i would ever be into it as much as some of them on there, or ever have the cash to take it up in as much detail as some.

I have learnt alot about types of wax and polish etc, and the results you can get from them. reali looking forward to giving mine a big detail now. just hope the weather holds up.

Some of the write ups are awesome I could read them for hours.

There is a lambo one on here mate that got a hyper detail.

Look for marc vxr or vxr marc on DW strange man he is.

50 layers of wax on his new astra vxr.

yeah seen his a few months back. read it again today. along withthe 101 details you must check out or something (but there was only like 10 in there)

the lambo one was intense tbh!

i wouldnt never consider spending that time on a car without a garage and a very expensive car, or if it was my job and wanted to show off.

Ah Mark, welcome to the £££ Club ;)

Remember the family's birthday/Xmas presents money? Gone!!!!

Do not take all of it as gospel. There are people on there who will spend money on products rather than food and running water. But read the guides and take all with a pinch of salt.

Or just ask me/Ali ;)

lol yeah i noticed that with the amount of some products people have. i dont even have the space to keep all those products, let alone the money to buy them all.

i would love to start a valet business/detailing business, but have no where indoors to do it, and have a fulltime job atm, so not reali practical.

hmmm can see myself buying alot of experimental stuff i think.

lol at gallys edit (if always come to your guys first. you are awesome)

Gally I knew as soon as I saw that you had posted that that was what would be changed lol.

Markie. Detailing business means somewhere to do it, indoors, products, insurance, paint depth guages etc. Market is saturated mate, no point. Do it as I do for a little bit of extra cash/fun/hobby.

yeah exactly. would be nice to offer a service to friends for a little cash on the side, but probably wont ever do it, as i get the most pleasure from cleaning mine. hope the rain stays away or there will be rage!!

50 layers of Z-2 and then he applied 3 layers or summat of paul dalton's crystal wax.

Epic read though and tbf it did look well good.

It was white, there was no point really.

Unless we're talking about his blue one.
