It's just another example of rip off Britain. This morning where I live we've just taken delivery of these new stupid recycle and separate waste bins, I live in a block of 14 apartments, we've got bins coming out of our ears here and no where to put them.... and how much have all these separate bins cost the government...????!!!! It's laughable and the brain child of some bell end behind a desk seriously bored and thought bins galore is a great idea!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say when I'm in the position to get out of this country I'm off and taking my Clio with me....................

Thanks to them over the last 10 years and Gordon Brown's fantastic job at buggering up our economy, selling off our gold reserves at record low gold prices and generally having no idea what the f**k he was doing hence we are where we are. Exactly. This has been going on for a long time and had to burst.

As for the Clio tax, the £400 for the 200 is laughable and defo not worth it but it's a s**t engine. Get a diesel or a bike.

My 3.9 v8 Mgb is cheaper to tax than my 172.....

But can't say it bothers me to much as split over the year its not that expensive - dare say if you could do it on monthly installments people wouldn't moan half as much...

I can't say I remember the 90's being anyway as bleak as times are now. was the noughties where it all went pete tong and it'll be a long time before we are back in a position of comfort again.

I agree and people have been saying this for years, not only does it introduce a fairer way of paying it also means you wont be able to get in trouble for forgetting about your renewal.

It must have already been considered but perhaps the only reason this isn't already done in this way is because it would reduce revenue for the government, as they usually only bother changing things when it boosts income.

I'm sure in country's such as France and Italy haulage firms etc get a discount buy buying the electronic tags. Halfs the price. Same system would work here?
