Just pre-ordered GTR2

I've got more than enough to play on 360 next month so I'm not going to order it yet. I want to get Broken Sword 4 for PC, so I'll probably play that at work.

I was playing a bit of GT Legends at lunch today. I love that game.

About bloody time! Will pre-order it tonight.

From the demo it does look good but I still think i'll prefer GT Legends, the cars of that era are just more fun to drive.

I really enjoyed the GTR demo but I never did buy the full game. I never did know if I should buy a wheel. Now, I normally hate wheels and I have never used one that actually made me feel it was steering the car. It's always felt a little bit driving a CTR (no offence to owners)

I'm open to suggestions though as I think the GTR games deserve to be played with a good wheel. Or can anyone recommend a good PC joypad. I've used my Xbox pads in the paast but they are a pain to setup and install drivers etc.

I've been rinsing GT legends lately, its a quality game, bit hard to play on the keyboard though

I think GTR and GTL need a wheel to be played properly. I've got the veteran Microsoft Sidewinder FF USB wheel - cracking device even if it is years old now.... ;)

^^ Agreed, the Sidewinder was my first wheel and is very good. Unfortunately the rubber grips eventually all broke off (a bit like a clio) and it was the gameport version so not much use these days.

Oooh I think that could be quite cool. GTR2 in 1680x1050 20" Widescreen with that wheel and headphones could be pretty amazing

Cheers for the heads up, I might read a few reviews. Shame my oven blew up last night and I've had to spunk a load of cash on a new one today

So do most racing games detect and configure properly with a wheel? Specifically the analogue pedals?

Yes, you usually just need to configure the buttons on the front and the shifters.

The weird sh1t thing about GTR2 (maybe just the demo though?) is that it doesn't have a default FF profile for the Microsoft Sidewinder wheel. Logitech's mentioned a fair bit, but not the MS device. A bit strange as it was available in both GTR and GTL.

BUMHOLES! :quiet:

The ETA has been put back until 28th September. Now I remember why I tend not to pre-order anything. They keep your hopes up until a few days before the release date....... and then put it back two weeks! GRRRRRRR!
