Just Snapped Me Cambelt

I know how it feels mate!

Cam belt went on mine on my way to my driving test !!!!

£375 that cost bent all valves and needed a new head! hecktic

sorry to hear it happen to anybody let alone a willy driver (thought you were supposed to take car of your investment)

Ive only had her 9 months mate, and its cost me sh*t loads,

I bet if I was I had a wife, she wouldnt of burned a hole as big the Willy has.

Its time like this, that makes me think if its worth keeping her.

Got mine done at BB when I was approaching 70k last year. They only charge about 160 quid which is reasonable and whilst you are at it they may as well do water pump if it needs it.

Good time to get cams or a chip fitted too as you would need belt changing on cam fitment. So in theory can put that 160 quid youd pay for teh belt change to teh cost of fitting the new cams and belt.

K-tec do an uprated cambelt supplied and fitted for about £130 +vat (minus cliosport discount) have a look at their website.

MY CAMBELT WENT TODAY!!!!! i cant belive it, i thought the fuel pump had cut out after i went over this ridge a bit fast but the RAC bloke took 5 seconds and said the cambelt had snapped!!!

And the most annoying part is that mine got changed less than a year ago!!! think it was on 57000 and there cars only done 69000!!!!

I couldnt be more pissed off total

I can recommend Toy (Redvalver). Helped me change my cambelt. Sounds to me like yours probably snapped due to being fitted too tight, if it only had 10,000 miles on it?

at 4k revs ur looking at all the valves valves being bent on the engine. mine went at 2k and bent 8 of them! the problem ur gunna ahve is getting a williams cylinder head second hand. if u rebuld ur existing head, itl cost a packet, 32mm williams valves r special order items from renault, and exhaust valves dont come in cheap.

then theres the possibility of piston damage...

bad luck mate, feel for ya. i smashed up some valves on my old car when the belt jumped several teeth coz of a loose tensioner so i know how ya feel!
