my wife did the 17inch wheel in apit hole and after 6 months they finally said it wasnt there fault,it was owned by the gas board therefore we had to go to them..eventually left it and sold the wheels..ps check your tyres mate cos you could have a BIG egg from the impact
Nice one, i was led to believe they were reluctant to give payouts but my dad got two wheels and tyres replaced without any fuss. He didnt even need photos of the road.
I took pictures of the hole and wheel and sent them to the council. They said it was not their responsibility it was the Scottish executive, whom they had passed the claim onto. The Scottish executive then said it was not their responsibility but Scottish water who they pass it onto.
Scottish Water have now accepted the claim and are paying out.
Im in the process of doing this now - I will get some money out of the lazy gits!!!
NB : If you fail with one council - on your travels look out for another crater (at this time of year there are hundreds!) and claim it on the respective council, worth a try!!!
