not if its a standard pannel filter. same goes for a normal universal filter. Only when you buy the whole kit do you get inscructions. Fitting a pannel is simple. Remove the top of the airbox, remove the old yellow cardboard filter, replace it with the k&n once and put the box back where it was.
If its a cone style universal one i think your fucked, unless its an "injection" then you wont be able to fit the cone filter without the new filter box to go with it.
