K&N versus standard airbox



  RENAULT CLIO 197 F1
Noticed a little flat spot when I bring the revs up from idle, looking a little closer the car has quite a small K&N conical air filter, in poor condition and badly fitting. My question is, should I sort out this filter properly? Or should I look for a standard airbox? I'm sure this is a subject that comes up often, all advice much appreciated.

Here is a video of what I call a flat spot, basically the throttle opens when I accelerate quickly from idle but the engine bogs down, any suggestions appreciated
