K&N

  clio sport 172
Just ordered a K&N panel filter for my 172. I know it will sound sweet but will i notice any performance change? Im not putting an exhaust on and its really just to make the engine more efficient , ie more cool air when driving on stinking hot days.

it wont make any noise difference, as its not the filter that stops noise is the resonation chamber, and all the air feeds, so it will not make any difference.

you will notice a slight performance increase.

disconnect your airflow valve, and that'll give you a little more noise. failing that, if you wanted "induction noise" you should have got a cone air filter - K&N 57i or the like.

Do you need to make any other adjustments to setup when fitting a K&N filter or is it just a case of lobbing it in and driving off?

I stand corrected on the noise issue....

Will let you all know of any difference in responsiveness. dont expect much but hey, it all helps to make driving the Whupper more fun.

Nope, your car should adjust for increased airflow. you can disconnect the battery and leave for 15 mins so the ECU resets, but I didn't bother when I fitted my K&N 57i.
