K-Tec Exhausts??

  BMW M135i
Sounds nice, but might be a little too loud at high speed hmmm. Anyone got one who can shed light?

I have a twin tail one on now. Sounds good, but a f**king pain in the arse to get sat straight due to lazy arse engineering. I had to make my own bracket. I did buy second hand though. Still poor on fitment quality, which lets it down. Other than that its great lol.

they are hard work to get to fit correctly and tbh ud be better off going to somewhere like prospeed to make up a better fitting exhaust (bracket wise)

ive got one on my 1.6 and tbh its ok. nothing special. far from the best quality exhausts ive seen
id get a quote for a custom before getting a ktec

I bought mine second hand, but that said its been a bad experience no matter how good it sounds!! Shame really, all it needs is rear bracket modded to take both hangers not just one side. Like I said, Lazy Engineering, I wouldn't get away with it lol

So many mixed views on here regarding exhausts..especially K-tec ones

I have a Mk1 stealth which everyone on here calls crap etc but I've found it to be fine both fitting wise and sound.

i have one and ive spent nearly £100 to get it sat right at various different garages and none can 100% sort it.

all of the joins were blowing so i had to get them all welded so until i can afford another system i cant even take this one off, sound is ok but loud with a decat, wouldnt buy another one though

ludaprix, do you have the MK1 version? I've just purchased the MK2 version and apparently this is a lot better fitting wise.

  A4 oil burner !!!
I have the 2 generation stealth on my cup and it took a while to fit but once sorted the knocking etc it is fine not too loud, a little raspy for some but doesnt like decats :0

Does it settle down over time though? The raspyness?

The noise imo sounds good but if you prefer a magnex sound or the loudness of powerflow its a tough choice. I have had all three and prefer my ktec. Not as boomy on mway either, still certain rpms where it resonates but not as bad as others listed.
After a good blat it sounds spot on but cold starts etc it isnt much diff then standard at low revs !

I currently have a Magnex twin pipe one and quite like the sound but my whole reason for getting the K-tec is to have quieter and looking less chavvy (the car).

I had a Magnex twin pipe and it sounded nice...just a shame it looked pants so it only lasted a couple of weeks on the car.

I have had my mk 2 stealth + decat fitted for the last two week's. No problems with fitting, sound wise not much louder than standad at low rpm. Open her up and it all changes:) :)

Edit-This was from K Tec

Anyone bought one recently that could comment?

ive just got back from collecting my car from k-tec.

its got a new prototype system on it, which is in development. its not entirely finished yet and they want me to drive on it for a while and see what i think.

first impressions are its not too loud, 2.5" bore and quality is good.

you can see it at FCS on my car, or on display at the k-tec stand.

Hmm I see, well looks like I might be taking a trip into 172 land now so mods are a no no as the insurance is dear enough already! Thanks for all the comments though anyway :).

We have worked to update alot of our systems this year and many of them are now worlds apart from the systems we used to supply. Although they were not bad it is just that the new ones are alot better. They still come with the lifetime guarantee and they will all fit very well. We have seen many badly fitting exhausts come through the workshop and with a 5 minute adjustment they have left looking spot on.

We also have a new 182 system coming very soon which Dan (FUBAR) is testing on his car. This system, was on display on our stand at the FCS to show the quality of construction. It also featured some new aluminium tailpipes and we should have a picture on our site over the next few days.

David.
