Keeping ITB's Running Sweet

  TrackCar & F30 330d
Right i'm picking up 90mm Jenvey ITB's Friday and hoping for just over 200bhp.

Are there any mods which could/Should (In Your Oppinion) be done to keep everything running sweet.

As in is an oil cooler worth it, better engine mounts, front strut brace as i will take out my slam pannle, things like that.

It's my daily driver but gets on track as much as poss, and when i finish uni in 10 months it will then only be my weekend/track toy.

One more thing, could you show me picks of ITB'd Clios

Many Thanks

Chris

A good map is Key and making sure it idles well.

Oil cooler is not a most, we run one but had no problems without it.

We found the uprrated mounts helped our car due to the older mounts had worn.
Can not see how a strut brace will help you though.
We also have a catch tank.

Smaller radiator, we still need one.
We also changed the throttle cable. because we had problems with the one that came with our kit.

It shouldn't need any special measures. Oil cooler is OTT too.

talk to Andy at K-tec. Get a new contactless TPS, and get him to map it for you

Well i actually will be ringing him next week as the Omex ecu has a map which was running CatCams too. So when i put everything in my car the map wont work?

I just (for now) need the orginal map that came with the ECU so when i plug it all in it then the car will run.

I would quite like a fitting guide as when the previous owner bought them a guide was not made then so he doesnt have one.

i run an oil cooler but its not vital, run smaller rad tho so better for air feed once filter is on!

OH FFS that is awesome!! Have you got rid of the existing loom to get it like that?

Where is everything hiding?

Back on topic, i take my ITB's off every now and again and give them a clean,as said some good plugs and maybe leads, but they really are a fit and forget thing, aslong as the mapping is good it should be BWAAAARP for years to come. Heres mine

battery in back, stand alone ecu behind dash with multi plug in glove box for mapping. car has been fully rewired (you can see the multi plugs just under water bottle) so its just an engine loom and light loom in the bay.

i have also uprated engine mounts since. i would say thats a big thing to do!!

Laxy your bay is stunning! If only I knew where to hide things or who to ask about getting it like this then I would definatly have my bay the same

That looks top notch Laxy, if i'd finished mine by now i'd swear they were identical, altough my rocker is metalic grey ;)

Have you done a project thread, it would be good to see some more pictures.

It doesnt wear out and is much more accurate and doesnt suffer with electical noise.....

this means its better for acceleration fueling control

the older type sensors are prone to regular failure
