Keeps revving?

  CLIO 172 EXCLUSIVE
Ok if im in traffic the car keeps revving up to about 2k, if i flick the accelerator up it drops back down to normal, any ideas?

Throttle cable realy needs chnaging but try lubbing it up a bit.

The real isue is the fact with age the spring looses its streght and the cable gets stiff.

New cables arn't much not a huge job to chnage.

I dont think thats it ! there is no tension on a throttle cable when the pedal is relised.

Update... now ( after cleaning throttle) the rpm rounds abour 1500 not 2000 like it did before :/ but the problem still remains :/

i would suggest making sure the black bracket that the throttle cable attaches to on the back of the throttle body is secure, mine used to stick at these revs, but once i fiddled with that mine has been fine

I have a fix for this, I went through 3 cables and two throttle bodies and it still did it.

It's a Renault Design fault, due to the original cable coming from the left side of the car and being shorter, when they made the UK spec they put a longer cable on and that's the problem.

I have sprung my pedal, piece of piss to do. The pedal becomes harder to push but comes straight back up under your foot and it doesn't stick.
this worked 4 me !!!

Riddzz, any chance of putting a photo showing where you fixed the spring on the pedal?
