kenwood amp , query

  Stanced Honda S2000

got a kenwood monoblock 1000watt amp. running 2*400watt rms ech rockford fosgate subs.

odviously there is ur normal 12v and gnd, rmt and all that and odviously ya speakers and rca leads

but why is there another gnd right near the rcas on the amp. what do i do? do i earth it to another point in my car, sumbody said u want the negative off one of the rcas and gnd it.

somebody point me in the right direction. also it will give the amp more power, true ?

are you sure its a ground??

to me it sounds like it cold be an outlet for a power cable for the possibility of daisy-chaining them

you do not need to ground the RCAs, so ignore whoever told you that, they obviously dont know too much about ICE

as for the extra power, somehow i think not

if the amp is the one i think it is , it has a cover that moves across when its hot, if thats so you do need to earth both terminals, they can be earthed at the same point, its just a pain in the arse, dunno why, its just the way they designed it.

its a kdc one. a new amp. its 1000watt monblock. and it says GND on it. daisychaining, is that known as series for another amp cuz thats what im doing anyways. a guy at a reputable ice dealer in this area said its so that it can produce more power, it needs to be well earthed. im thinking it need to be eathed to the car if a different place than where it is now. it deffinately says GND. HELP !

daisy chaining is the linking together of more than one amp through the same power cable (like a daisy chain)

to be honest with you, im not familiar with kenwood amps due to the limitations of their abilities compared to their rivals and the fact we are not authorised dealers, so dont really have any advice i can give

no probs bam, thanks anyways. it did well on the max power tests. as u say not quite as good as some other brands but the cost of the others where almost double! so i think it was good VFM. just need to sort out what the 2nd gnd is for?!
