Key card not recognised

I have had my Renault Clio for about 3 years and recently started to have problems with my key card, about 4 months ago it kept coming up key card not recognised on the dashboard and wouldn’t start the car I changed the battery and had the exact same problem so RAC came out and replaced the key and gave me a new one and it has been working fine until about a week ago when it started to come up with the same message key card not recognised but after a few time of putting it in the slot and taking it out it would work but now it won’t even work after numerous attempts at putting it in and taking it out, it will lock the doors but won’t actually start the car any recommendations?

The buttons on mine were broken and it wouldn't unlock the car at all and would only start it while in the slot. All fixed now.
