KEY FOB URGENT!

Hi i just finished washing my mums car (ford focus 2004 btw) and the key remote has packed up so locked it with the key i went to unlock it and it wont unlock? so i had to climb through the boot. where can i get a battery from tomorow or any advice?

thanks i been looking it says a lot of focus have this problem in wet weather but it worked straight after i cleaned it to move it :S

i have just dug out the spare key, and that unlocks the car manually and unlocks it aswell wheres as the orginal is not unlocking the car could the key be worn?
