S1 16v 106 Rallye
I guess it happens to everyone, and today it happened to me. Locked my keys on the front seat. -.-
So i'm getting pretty pissed, after always planning to get a spare key cut and never actually going and getting one done. Yeah, i'm an idiot.
So i'm round my mates later, explaning, and we decide to go see if theres anything we could do to get them out without having to smash a window, call a locksmith or get one of those pressure bag things, and after about half an hour of pushing and pulling at things on the car we were practically sure there was no way we were goibng to do it until my mate realised that when he was pushing the passenger side rear window, the pop-out style window catch was slowly opening every time you push the window. So we're there pushing the window 'till it gets to the point where it won't any more, then I got the rubber ended crowbar type thing with the socket on the end that comes with the car and slightly prised at the cap and woo. The window opened.
So we walked round the back of my house, got a bamboo cane, some insulation tape and the hook off a coat hanger hanging from a string attached to the cane, and got my mate to dangle it through the window and over the passenger seat using a torch to guide the hook onto the ring on the keys to hook the keys and bring them out. Haha.
So yeah, I just thought i'd share my little story with you all. Typical French. I tried pushing the window the other side and that catch opened to. Is this with all MK1 clios or are both of mine just dodgey/worn? It's handy, but i'm slightly concerned about leaving my car in a carpark now. Anyone else had to do this or anything similar? I know I could have used to hook to pull the handle from the inside too. This was more fun though
