no its not that fuel gard rail thats making that noise, it sounds as if its coming from the bottom of the belts, sorry its not really a good video+ sound, but i can here a grinding+rumbling sound.

Hmmmmm, best to wait for a specialist to come on and comment.

Could be dephaser but im sure they sound more rumbley.

Yours sounds high pitched. If you're going birchdown they will sort you out :)

if anyone has a listen, i would say you can hear it best around 42 47 secs into the clip, but it does sound like a rumbly+grinding
bearing noise, i know birchdown will do there gifted magic on it,

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
I'd say water pump bearings is more likely from that noise, but you can't really tell from videos

yeh its defo coming from that area though dan, and tbh that sounds more like it, i had everything changed ''but'' the water pump??

could be onto it there, still going to be new belts+pulleys all over again, silly me there not that much aswell, i should of replaced
that at the same time.

thanks dan, ps not had chance to fit the spax yet, i'll get this lot sorted first., but that was my ££££ for my fronts.

I'd say it's dephaser. Mine was like a noisy alternator bearing. Changed the pulley and belts and it's nice and quiet now

  Looking for 182
This is what mine sounded like when the dephaser was gone, for comparison.

I had it replaced, noise went.

well the update it turns out danny you were spot on mate, it was the water pump, the bearings in it were fcuked , the pump
itself was really notchy to spin, so i put the BG on to my trailer and set off monday morning at 10.30am and arrived at birchdown
at 11.30am,

Soon as i started the BG up Andy said yeh it sounds like the water pump, so he replaced the water pump + aux belt and fresh coolant. And now its running spot on again.

so i would just like to say a MASSIVE THANKS to Andy & Steve at Birchdown .

Oh really ok :) cheers, I just heard before that people had had the water pump replaced during cam belt jobs and assumed a connection or inter link.

Does it cost much for a water pump jobbie?
