Knock sensor, where and how?

Does the Clio have a Knock sensor and if so where abouts is it?
If it failed what would be the symptoms? Would it bring on any warning lights?

Cheers.

  Lots of Alfas
Yeah its on the front of the block, I dont think they bring on warning lights though, but they do log faults in the ecu iirc.

Whats the problem your having??

Thanks guys, this isn't my fault but a lad I know who has a 172 had his toxic fume warning light come on.
He's had it to a local Diag place and they've told him it's the knock sensor.

Personally, I'm dubious!

yeah^

Although, i had RSTuner show a knock sensor fault in the 'memory', it wasnt currently present though. So he may have had a knock sensor warning at some point, and the diag he has had done has just shown it up, but it could have been in the memory for months....and not currently present...

Dave - I know, that's exactly what I said when he first told me the light had come on.

He wont listen though as this supposed 'mechanic' has suggested the knock sensor instead.

I believe as you say Jordan that the fault may have been logged but it's not linked in any way to the TFW light illuminating.

yeah, if it was the toxic warning light there would be an o2 sensor error showing too I think....did he not mention any other codes apart from knock?

As I understand things - the TFW light came on so he booked it in for diag.
Diag day came and the light had turned itself off again, put car on diag and it came back with a knock sensor fault.

No other codes have been mentioned to me - yet.
