Knocking from front of car

  Arctic 182
Sounds like drivers side. Sounds like a rotational knocking which speeds up when faster and goes away when I turn to the right. Sounds loudest when I'm turning left at about 20mph or in 3rd slowing but not braking. I've been told CV joints by somebody but also thought could be driveshaft? Also read from a previous thread on here which sounds similar somebody said wheel bearings? Has this happened to any body? I don't know if it's relate but around about the same time I have the violent light come up on the dash. Ideas and costs of repair would be idea guys thank you in advance.

sounds like its CV joint to me!

and what do you mean it could be driveshaft?? what else could go wrong on a drive shaft other than the CV joints?!

I didn't realise it was the only thing as I haven't changed it I only know the driveshafts gone on my old car before and it felt similar. How much will it be? Can you just do one? Or do you have to do both at once?

yes but a driveshaft is a straight piece of steel! lol, the only thing that really goes on them.......is the CV joint!! (or they completely snap but thats clearly not whats happened)

and you can change the whole shaft if you like, easy job, but shafts dont come cheap, even second hand theyre still pretty pricey!!
changing just the CV is a much harder job, not something id really like to do myself tbh, but it might work out cheaper. except you wont find second hand CV joints!
