Knocking/Grinding noise under hard acceleration

In my ph1 172 im gettin a knockin/grinding type of noise coming from the drivers side wen i accelerate, i changed my drivers side drive shaft n track rods end etc.

The engine mount on the drivers side cud do with bein changed bt im not sure if that is the problem or not.

(Is it possible it cud be the exhaust vibrating?)

Any ideas????

I had a loose dog bone when I first bought my car and that made some crazy noise under hard acceleration, also if the mount you mentioned is dying then that could be causing it, mine was so nackered the cam cover mount was hitting the black part of the mount secured to the bay, rock the engine back and forth and see how much play is in the mount and how easily it moves.

^^^a bone that a dog fetches

sorry, its the bottom engine mount towards the back.

i have put uprated bushes in my dogbone as I have the same problem. slightly better but i think i need to change the top engine mount as well.

could be a drive shaft engine mount or gearbox put the hand brake on and rock the engine by driving in first

And when you do this and the "knocking" is there, your mounts are shot ?
I got the same problem when getting wheelspin , not a nice noise.

I've read on here that you could readjust the top mount by loosening it, pushing the engine all the way back and then retighten it so the engine is in a better position.

HAd the same knocking and grinding noise under hard acceleration in first for a long time. Got a lot worse recently and its turned out to be the drivehaft gone
