knocking noise with wheelspin!

  Leon Cupra 300
There has been a few threads in the past about this, but can anyone who has/had this problem report here and what they did to fix the issue.

I read on another forum a bloke had this problem on his (new shape) focus st, it disappeared when he changed from conti's to pe2s. At the moment i'm hoping when i swap mine it will stop the noise! Or am i being too ambitious?

Thanks:cool:

dont be so quick to get the clutch up... practice man practice..hehee
a little puff of tyre smoke every now and then is funi have to admit though....and i mean puff, not stream of cluth burning tyre flinging white hase

Need to check your engine mounts etc your having the typical trouble with axle tramp the engine shaking round hitting the stearing rak and suframe when it moved about. New dogbone mount will help plus adjust your engine mounts to help move the engne away get under the car and you should see what needs doing.

vibrating/rumble type noise, sounds shite which is why i would like to get it sorted sooner rather than later.

same prob as the other thread!
i had same problem with mine.
have k-tec dog mount bushes fitted.
ktec FK coilovers fitted.
and STILL had this noise problem!

i investigated what it might be,and found it to be the engine mount/gearbox mount had snapped in two!

so natrualy i replaced it straight away!

couple months later it broke again!
i got so annoyed that i just made one at work from steel!
not much more weight either as i dont have to put a battery ontop mine.
anyway heres a pic.
if anybody wants one making up pm me

Mine does this also but i thought it was the traction control knocking in and causeing it to do this. my engine mounts are sound plus i have power flex wish bone bush fitted. how much are engine mounts???? any idea??

axle tramp is normal i would of thought, happens alot in rwd cars, had it on my old 200 s14 and 14a. only way to cure it was to solid mount the axle to the car using steel bushes. i have it in my cup. not bothered about it to be honest. usually get when it breaks traction at the top of first and second in the damp

Cheers for the response.

Does everyone think the idea of swapping brand of tyres is a load of crap then? Reason i say is because thats the only contact path between the car and road, but when i get spin it only happens on certain road surfaces at the moment?

I dont go round lighting them up everywhere and in the dry its not really a problem, but when its greasy like this even on half throttle in 1st they soon spin up and make that bloody awful noise. I used to drive an old 1200 corsa sxi that did the same thing, but one of my old shite boxes of an escort on an F plate never did!

Its very GAY!

You think it's bad in Clio's, you wanna see/hear how bad it can be in a CTR in wet conditions from 1st-3rd on OEM tyres.

Just drive more senisbly imo.

Oooo so they get it too? I thought it was just shoddy french engineering! Its just when you HAVE to do the odd launch though haha.

stop wheel spinning!!!

simple

for gods sake shut up

I'm not doin massive wheelspins here, i'm on about slight slip when accelerating which easily happens! Some people have had this problem and fixed it hence the reason for the post. I was asking for potential fixes for the problem described, not a way to avoid it happening in the first place so until someone asks for that keep shut.

from what i read a while back that the gearbox-mount is the most probable with this s&%t-noise... mine does it too

Mines been the same since new, Its a b**ch when you pull out from a busy junction in the wet and the wheels are slapping like mad trying to grip:mad:
Plenty of grip and no knocking in 2nd gear though:approve:
