Knocking noise

k just started today when i pull away in 1st i get a knocking noise that i can feel in the clutch....

also you know when u change gear and u leave ure hand on the gear stick...when i change into second and leave my hand on the stick it makes a crunching noise even when its in gear.. n e ideas???

Thats the primary reason you DONT drive with your hand on your knob whilst in gear.

Your pushing on the linkage and the selector fingers are pushing he gear against the synchro, wearing them.

what you feel with the gearstick will just be the selector fork being pressed against the sliding hub when its already pushed across and in gear,dont do it youll wear the selector fork.

the knocking in first could be numerous things.have a look at engine/gearbox mountings first.
