Knocking noise :/

Just started to happen this week, when turning the wheels near to full lock i hear a knocking/creaking noise come from the front end? Haven't had chance to get the wheels off to have a look but will at the weekend. Anyone know what could be causing this?

and where do these go? under the top mounts ?
