knocking, vibrating, grinding.

  a low one
Right, last week the car developed these odd noises of knocks and vibrations which seemed typical of a failed driveshaft, so replaced that as it was knackered. The problem was still there. Noticed my dogbone mount wasnt doing anything as the rubber had broken free so replaced that with the problem still there afterwards.

Its a juddering/vibrating sound when pulling away especially in first and then once say in 5th at low revs if i acclerate i get a knock/bang as if the engine was rocking back and hitting the firewall. ive checked over everything and all is tight with no obvious signs of play or movement from any componants.

Anyones have any ideas please as this is driving me mad!!

Thanks Jake

Gearbox mount, this is what mine was like when the bolt sheared in the mount.

Easy to check, give right side of engine a shack or just pop the battery out and take a look

already done that mate, the mount is worn but still not the cause. Found the cause today though, it was the upper engine mount, moving in and out of position so a new upper mount solved all problems!
