Ktec Coilover kit

Hi everyone,

What does everyone think about the Ktec coilover kits? How would you compare them against some of the "better" kits such as H and R?

Are these much of an improvement over the stand Cup suspension? Is it much stiffer than the standard suspension?

What mm would be best to lower the car if im just using it for road use? I don't want to go to low!

Also, Ktec solid strut mounts... are these worth getting? I'm very interested in these.

Cheers for you help!

I have the KTR coils and solid top mounts and the things make the car handle like a dream....

Good tyres are really importand tho or you wont get the most form them.

do the solid mounts make it harsh ? noisy? etc

Good question!?

Hmmm I was just reading the thread on that. I don't know about these... they seem to cheap to be good lol. See how it goes for everyone else though!

Any one else? How do the Ktec kits compare to the H and R kits?

Cheers

From the review on here the Ktec coilies are very good value for money, a good upgrade to the cup suspension. But there must be a difference between ktec and H&R coilovers, considering the cost. Not been in a ktec clio yet, so cant give an opinion, am getting my H&R coilies fitting next week though.

Harsh? noisey?
nope. where would the noise come from, its solid.
theres no dead zone in the middle of the steering like before either, looking forward to Cadwell Pk and the ring soon......

Whats the ride quality with them like?
Spot on IMO. Absorbs bumps really well, not crashy at all but also isn't overly firm for road use...

As for them comparing to H&R's - I wouldn't know. But for £1000+ new im never going to know with the H&R's... Just aren't worth it for the road + odd trackday imo.

really good. put it this way - if you were thinking of getting some and I took you out for a spin, your mind would be made up!!

Aha that's good enough to make my mind up! Is there a typically amount people seem to lower for "spirited road use"? I have a Cup and i'm thinking of lowering 30mm on the front and 25mm on the back!?

Cheers!

Im in the same boat, either get new shocks all round and eibach sportlines or these ktr bad boys!

Also i want a decent place to fit them because isnt the fitting and setup most important?

The only place I know mate is Northwest Tuning in Cheshire. Bit of a mission for you, but they apparently do a top notch job! Fitting and setting the camber and tracking for £70ish.

Can anyone give me an idea how how much I should lower by? Read my last post.

Cheers!

I have them on my car and they are awesome value for money. I plan to get the solid top mounts soon too.
