KTEC Filter Clean with K&N Oil?

Because I'm on the Isle of Man, KTEC want me to pay a whopping £22 post for their cleaning kit even though you can send it in a jiffy bag for £5.

I have loads of K&N filter cleaner and oil from a previous K&N filter, would it work on the KTEC foam?

Without sounding massively bitchy, as a trader for another brand it costs me just shy of £5 to send an oil filter in a jiffy bag. NI? Moreso than that. I think to the EU it cost £10 from memory. £22 however is taking the biscuit.

K&N cleaner should do it as should the PiperX stuff. My KTR filter seems to be overoiled.

Cotton and foam oils are apparently different, ITG are very adamant not to use cotton oil on their filters:

As above itg recommend that you use only there cleaning kit as cotton and foam cleaning kits are different. I have heard of people using petrol to clean there filters along with warm soppy water, I haven't used the method myself so can't comment any more then that.

Also the postage charge does sound abit steep, we have sent stuff to Europe for less then that.

I use petrol and K&N foam filter oil to service my KTM motorbike filter. Have done it for years and the filter is fine - however the petrol over time seems to have bleached out the dye from the filter. Only a cosmetic problem but maybe important

I've gone ahead and bought the RamAir foam filter cleaner and oil as it looks like a relabelled Ktec kit (Probably from the same factory ha). It was the same price as the KTEC one but with FREE SHIPPING! <3 eBay!
