I was thinking of this too. I saw another Cup right behind a few months ago and noted that the grille didnt look too hot - a bit too plastic and dull.
K-tecs grille is a bit steep and I need to see it on another Cup first. Can anyone "fit it" to a Cup in photoshop? Looks good on the silver 172 though.

If they are as good quality as they look in the pic, then they would look good on any colour. I would buy a set today if they were cheaper.
I dont supose you could paint the plastic ones with hamerite or some thing and get the same effect or would it just look like painted plastic and chip off?

Why dont you take your car along to a bodyshop and let them see what the grille is made of and see what they say? I am sure that there is a primer similar to that put on plasic bumpers prior to spraying with the colour, that can be used to prime the plastic before spraying it with a silver colour or whatever.

? The "2.0 16V" badge on the side of the car seems to get very dull if theyre not spotless. I assume theyve been primed and painted in the same way.

First impressions were cool it looks good although cool as the ktec logo sounds I think it would be better without it.
For anyone thinking about purchasing this most essential tip.....
.....GET IT PROFESSIONALLY FITTED BY A VERY VERY GOOD BODYSHOP!!!!
Mine was supposed to be fitted by GCM in St. Albans, they are brilliant and do great work, but they couldnt fit me in for four weeks, so on my way home I popped into a random garage, sure they said can have it done this afternoon for £20 each half grille, £40 in all,
So obviously desperate to have it done, I left the car picked it up later and it was not right, Had to pay and left cos essentially they have done the job but....it needs alteration which Im going back to my original bodyshop for at more cost!!!!
Points to note, personally I dont think its either a good design or well made, to fit you have to hacksaw out the original plastic grille!! scary on a new car, next you have to drill two holes into the plastic bumper!!, then slot the grille into the drilled holes and screw down to the main plastic grille holder,
Sounds fine!!! apart from the fact that the grille is too big!! you have to squash it down to fit it in, therefore it bows slightly!
Part of this will be sorted when fitted by a competent bodyshop but the problems are inherent from ktecs design, will take a photo later tonight, and post it up here for you. Does make a nice improvement though, so my advice if you running out of things to do then go for it, although expect to pay £40-£50 for fitting,

couldnt agree more. I think with a nice new motor like a 172/cup you have to choose mods very carefully to avoid that tacky european spoiler manufacturer catalogue look. I wouldnt have one on my car but its all down to taste really innit.

We charge £20 to fit the grille as it is very straight forward. We do not need to bend or force the grille in any way if the standard grille is cut correctly. Fitting takes around half an hour. We have our secind batch made now with no need to change the original design due to bad fitting. Noel, yours is the first we have heard of that has been difficult to fit.

ARSE!!! Wish I had known you were changing the design, kinda surprised that in my numerous phone calls to you guys none of you mentioned that! Oh well, guess for you guys knowing how to do it is the best bit, took a little figuring out even for my good bodyshop, when funds allow I will have it back into the good place to get it looking perfect,
Thanks for your response David, Im not knocking Ktec so much just the possible designers of the grille, even the decent bodyshop mentioned it appeared a little large and may still bow out slightly,

get what off? the ktec grille, its only screwed down with six screws cant be that bad!!
If you referring to the original clio grille then for fitting the ktec grille if you have the older one you dont have to take the grille off you have to hacksaw through it and if you have the new one then I dont think you need alter it at all.
