Lambda Sensor

  Storm Grey 200
Need to replace the pre cat sensor couple of questions:

1. Wheres the cheapest place to buy?
2. Is it a garage job or can it be done on my drive?

Cheers

cheers mate bargain compared with renault.
Anyone else fitted one? I don't want to break anything while doing it

It's dead easy as long as the old one comes undone easily.

Just undo the sensor 21mm spanner I think. Unscrew unclip. Refitting is reverse ;-)

If it doesn't come undone it's a pain in the arse.

did mine today, fitted sports cat as mine was bit rattly. Its 22mm spanner, and you need a can of DW40 as it was a b**ch to get off. prob easiest taking the cat off to get it out dut to lack of space under the car.

Garage will prob do it for an hours labour, prob better off paying to get it done.

It takes about 5 minutes!
Warm the car up first and it will help get it off, just don't burn yourself.

Its more likely to be the pre cat sensor as the post cat sensor does not do much.

Pre cat is used to set mixture.

Post cat is used to keep emmisions better to keep the greenies happy.

If you are anywhere near Congleton in Cheshire i'll do it for nowt.

got mine changed today, ended up having it done by one of the mechanics in work as he had 10 mins spare, the only thing he had a problem with was re connecting the wires, it was a tight space and it was very hot in that area and i'd only had the car idling for less than 5 minutes waiting for the ramp to be lowered

as the EML light didnt go off he said to go and have it re set so have done that now, so fingers crossed it wont come back on
