I've murdered my HP nx6325 (to give you an idea of spec I'm currently operating on) and want to replace it with something come January when the sales start 
I use it for internet browsing & general uni stuff; powerpoint/word stuff.
What are good brands to look at and what should be avoided?
My HP has been awful, in 12 months its gone through 3 power cables, had keyboard problems & now the screen and mouse pad is fucked.
