HELP..............(No knowledge of computers BTW so please be patient.)

Ive just got myself a brand new centrino processor toshiba laptop, it has a built in wireless connection. I have wireless at home and im wondering how i can get it to run off the wireless network at home or when you go to some bars etc and use there network.
What do i do to do this?

If you already have wireless network at home, then when you switch on your wireless connection it will give you a selection of networks to connect to. Select your one and away you go.

As for using them in bars etc, you can only use them if they are unsecure or if they provide details on using them etc.

hmmm.....just tried that mate but no availible networks come up!!!!! WHY?

Where bouts is the switch on wireless connection ?

Before you go searching I've found that a few laptops recently need a button pressed to enable the wireless properly, usually just underneth the screen.

Look under network connections, is your wireless connection on on the laptop?? Xlick Start then Settings, then Network connections, plus like ben said!! Plus there may be a blue light on the laptop when wirless is on, whats the usual thing when someone buys something new?? thats right RTFM!!!!!

found the switch and its found the network woooohoooo!!!

but cant connect it keeps crashing f**king thing

took me a week of pissing about to realise i had to hit the button to fire up the wireless card...nothing was mentioned in the book i found it out via a forum ,almost went out the window a few times lol
