laptop back up question!

laptop has around 100gb on it, when i do a back up on it on to my seagate drive does it move over an entire copy everytime or just the new information which has been done since last backup?? its a sony vaio

Depends on backup program and configuration of said program.

Who knows.

You'd have to tell us what backup software you're using!

At a guess it will be incremental so it doesn't have to backup things unnecessarily.
