Laptop cooling fan

Is there a download available so i can control my cooling fan? Basically i believe my lappy is getting too hot and i would like to be able to turn up the speed manually.Ive read a few threads about the fujitsu siemens amilo getting too hot and crashing which is what mine is doing. cheers if anyone can help!

Raise the laptop using "feet" or curved holders.

They work a lot better and make lappy more comfortable to use. Im using a set of 4 feet which suction on to the bottom of the lappy lifting the back up further.

Runs cooler and is so much better to type with.

I sometimes use the dell one too. Comes in handy for testing.

Had a couple fans go recently on D800's and its a quick way to test if they are working before opening them up.

i have it running all the time on dell 1300. ive set it to come on, on start up of my laptop

had the laptop now for over 4 years and the fan still works perfect.

The problem seems to affect D800's only.

Dell have been excellent though and a replacement part arrived the next day. They did offer to send a techie out to fit a new motherboard and fan but I just do it myself.
