Laptop freezing at splash screen

Im trying to fix a laptop for a friend where after i turn it on the computer completely freezes at the bios splash screen and says press f2 to get iunto the bios ,ive tried this but it wont actually go to the bios.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be at all ,the model of the lappy is a packard bell igo and thats all i know

i hate laptops, im just sorting my mates out... installed SP2 onto his windows and now it wont load, having to restore it...

Anyway you could try taking the battery out for a while to reset the settings/bios.

Do you get any beeps?

no mate nothing at all ,its as if im locked out

What make of laptop is it?

Have you got any spare RAM memory there to swop it to test if the RAM is faulty?

all i know is its called a packard bell igo....No got no ram to swap, i may open her up and check see if all the cabels are seated properly

ive found its an IGO 3491

And have just noticed that sometimes when it boots it beeps

1beep 123beeps

Ive no idea as to what to try next

Well ive finally found the problem 1 of the keys is stuck down and ive tried everything to get it to work but still nothing...does anyone know anywhere that does spare laptop parts ?
