Laptop help/advise

Hey Guys, i'm after abit of advise really or recomendations as I'm looking for a new laptop as the screen is knackered on my acer. I really havn't got a clue what all the different specs etc mean, and whats good or whats not.
My budget is arround £500ish and it will be used only for internet, music and watching films etc. I want a large hdd though as i have a fair amount of music and i'm going to Canada for 6 months so need loads of room for pic's etc.

Ive been looking at some of the Sony vaio range, based on good reviews and the main ones being:-

The last is over my budget, but i'm interested in the blu ray player so not sure if its worth the extra cash. I'm open to other brands though, although i've gone off acers as the screen has pretty much snapped off mine.

FZ is a f**king great notebook but for what you want it for a bit overkill, unless you really want the BD. I'd get the NR. It'll be ample for what you need it for with the spec and hard drive.
