Laptop help

Hi,im looking for a laptop for my wife as a birthday preasent.

I am wanting to spend no more than £400 and its only to use as a basic computer.I dont need an all singing and dancing thing,its just for fun.Dell have some nice ones and acer have some good deals,but just wanting to pick any techy brains out there.

What would you sugest

I sold my old Acer which was double the spec for less than that :S
