i dont pay VAT so it would be £299 as they do free delivery. (it says 249 on the net but the one i got through the post is £299? same model number but it has 1024mb memory? is that good?

nah, there are better people to advise you here.

I just went down the Dell route and came close to buying, but there are better spec'd PC/laptops eslewhere for a lot less. Dell are quite smart looking machines and have a strong brand, but its difficult to get anyone other than themselves to fix their kit.

for 249, you only get 90days collect and return, they are adding £80 for the 3yr warranty....... where do you buy anything electrical that has only 90days warranty!!!
