Last 182 sold.

Just sold our last brand new unregistered RS 182 Cupped up today in pearl black, the guy that bought it has bought it for his girlfriend as a christmas surprise, lucky woman.
Think it was one of the last unregistered ones in the country and one of the last produced. Just seems odd now not being able to sell and RS Clio models until next year.

Will be interesting to see what the new one is like. Expectations seem to be low for it.

The MK 3 Clio is now released so the emphasis will now be on the MK 3 Renault Sport Clio for next year release. Like every model it is now end of line, like mant great hatches of the past 306 GTi 6 gets replaced by the 307 and no model comes close. So with the 182 when the remaining ones at dealers are sold thats all the new ones gone.

They stopped production of 182 in september. There are 34 at dealers at present unregistered, when they are gone they are gone. But its true they are concentrating on new clio. I think the new renaultsport clio will be fantastic, it may take a while to grow on people but am sure it will be as big of a success as Mk 2 clio 172/182

LOL @ AliasOmega!!! Per pound there is nothing that comes close to the 182!

It beats the Civic in the fun category which is more expensive with less basic kit! To get a decent spec you are spending a LOT more cash.

One thing I have learnt during 182 ownership is that I certainly wont be rushing out to buy a Mk 3 Renaultsport. I'll wait until its cheaper and has been specc'd up a bit (Sachs dampers and Recaro's anyone?)

Why is it a stupid comment. Its true tho. Most of them which are decent go for about £12-14k meanwhile the clio has dropped another £500 in price.

Id rather have a cossie, one which has had sensible mods, and therefore about 270bhp... ive seen a few. Compare the clio against something like that, and its miles behind. Compare it against the megane and its miles behind again.

A chipped fabia vrs can keep, and beat a clio 182...just loses out on the corners..

I know this is a clio forum, and a bad word cant be said about them, but take a look at the work renault have done to my car, maybe 12-14 faults since ive had it, it needs to go back in again as ive noticed things have been damaged since they changed the alternator, the catches that keep the grill on have been damaged, the bonnet alarm sensor is loose too. They changed the fuel tank ages ago, and cracked the plastic thing under the rear seat, they put it back and not replaced it.

I know this is individual people, not the whole of renault but this is the experience ive had from them.

Id prob not by another Renault after this clio...i had a clio before this, and now my ideas on what car i want has changed. We all know the new clio is going to be the same, and if we get one of the first batch clio's were going to be the guinea pigs for all the faults to come. We've all been there, all done it...how many times have we stood in the Renault Service department queue waiting to be served, have you got a courtsey car for me.? No, oh, how am i ment to get to work tomorrow.? Sorry sir, cant have a courtsey car for 2 weeks...how about just giving me 5 mins to see if its ok or not to drive..? No, sorry sir we cant...

I'm not disagreeing on the service issue were all in agreement over that. However, as 12 year old cossie is not gonna be anymore reliable!!lol.

You cant even compare an RS clio with a cossie as they were never aimed at the same market and i defo couldnt be doing 22k in a cosse/

And with regards to my reliabilty my 182 is spot on. My 172 was a complete pain in the arse. The same can be said for the majority of cars on the road!!

Anyway, the damn thing failed again tonight on the way home. Just got towed home as i broke down about 8-40pm. Alternator is not charging. Wonder when they can fit me in to have this alternator replaced.

from wot iv heard its just luck wether u get a good 182 / 172 or a bad 1 (as in terms of how many time u have to use the warrenty).....

as for comparin the 182, youv gota compare it 2 other hatchbacks ie not a cossie, scooby or evo etc, obviously if u compare it 2 these cars its gona seem "slow" on standard spec!

I could ring them, tho its been to Renault about 12-14 times now. Dont think they would give me the cash back as the car is a 04 and on 27/28k now ish...

I know a cossie is in a different league, but if you consider the way the cars are going now, it soon wont be. If you compare the way it was designed then i cant see how far it is behind. Both are based on a 1998cc engine, one is 4x4, one is fwd. The rest is all material.....suspension, brakes etc can be changed. The only addition is that the cossie has a turbo, so does that put the Megane 225 Trophy on the same par.?

Ive had 5. a 3door and 3 saffs - rwd and an escort 4wd

no because the megane is fwd and the cossie is eather rwd or 4wd, different when it comes to puting power down

I agree with everything above, there wont be a single person that's owned one for more than 6 months without some kind of issue and a dealer gaff

To be honest it's only this club that's keeping me from changing the damn thing.
