182 Cup
What a fantastic weekend, probably my best yet! The weather was fantastic, and the whole atmosphere was really something to be happy about this year.
Friday on mulsanne was busier than ive ever seen it, lots of exotica. Also in arnage on the friday night, again very busy and a great atmosphere going into the night.
On the day of the race we visited the auberge (sp) on mulsanne, which I would recommend. The very nice owners let us go into an upstairs bedroom to watch the race for a few minutes and get a few sneaky pictures, we also had a 3 course meal there and the steak was lovely. We then also walked through a couple of fields and managed to get a great view up the mulsanne straight.
Sunday was probably the hottest day we were there, and sitting on the start/finish straight for about 2 hours before the end was painful but worth it!
For anyone that missed the race, Peugeot took the victory and about time. For me though the real success was for aston, who although didnt win the race took a respectable 3rd, ahead of 6 diesel cars. A great result for their first year in LMP1, and what other manufactures can say they did so well with an engine out of their road car?? Anyway here are some pics, I also got some video which I will upload soon
