Leakage

  02 Clio Extreme
Just realised today.. that both front footwells are completely soddened, its like a swimming pool!

Dads had a quick look and said he thinks there might be a leak from around the windscreen! He wants me to sell it and buy another clio!

anyone else had similar probs??

Could be something minor like a grommet not seated properly. I'd get it diagnosed by a trained mechanic before thinking about having to get rid of the car.

Could still be caused by a grommet, if there's alot of standing water about and you drive the car then it'll soon find its way in. You really need it to be leak tested properly.

its not standing water.. but the water has soaked through the carpet and the foam underneath etc.

my dads is having a proper look at the clio at the moment, try to find out where its coming from.

  182 has now gone!
I had a similar problem with my zetec s years ago.. turned out it was a cracked bulk head seam...

If it's as wet as you say he may as well get the seats out and the carpet out to dry it out properly that way it'll be easier to spot where the problems are coming from.

Had this problem with my car expect it was everywhere lol. Stripped the car back to the bare shell pretty much about 2 weeks ago and their was lil puddles in all the footwells and even in the boot :(. All dried out now though. Couldnt find anywhere it could have leaked in. Although app it could be the door seals?

Had this problem with mine and i think ive fixed it.......if u have a sunroof, chek the seal that lies flush with the external roof.....mine had water underneath it, so it was flowing into the roof cavity and down the pillars to the floor.....i just used clear silicone round the seals and no more waters appeared so far *fingers crossed*

had it in my 106 too, heater matrix burst, but then agin you would know if it was that with it smelling of coolant
