Leccy windows broke!!!

Does anyone know anything about changing the leccy window motor on a mk 2 ph 1 clio, when I press the button for the passenger window on either side of the car, nothing happens. How much should the parts cost, and is it an easy job??? Im fairly handy with the spanners, but ive never taken the door cards off before and really dont want to f**k my interior!!!:dapprove:

You checked the switch/fuse?

one minute, they were working, then they ground to a halt and started banging then stopped!

Both sides? If you can hear the motor working/banging sounds like the cables have frayed or come wrap themselves round, ie you need a pair of regulaters if thats the case

just the passenger side, but it did it using either button, drivers or passengers, so theres a spool and motor in the door, whats the regulator?? an electrical bit??? sounds like a mechanical failiure to me.

regulator cable has snapped, regs can be had for £70 new from specialist breakers 01254386661 or try a scrapper

Yeah regulater is just another name for the mechanism, as Jon said you need a new one
