leccy windows

my g/friends leccy windows are fooked, the cable has broken . has anyone ever changed this cable, my local garage who i get parts off say the parts come as a kit that includes a new motor, i would have thought you couuld just buy a new cable?

I know on the Mk1 they are built into the regulator, best off getting a 2nd hand one from a scrappy.

for anyone who is interested, the cable comes as part of the regulator, and for a mk 2 this is £186 new! picked one up from the scrappy for £30!
