led/neon lighting for home use - help needed

my dad wants some kind of light that changes colour, like the little eggs you can get form maplin.

is there some kind of kit you can buy??

maplin have loads of lighting stuff, just couldnt find what i was after. ill search for downlighters

Yep. i was in ikea on monday and was looking at these for my tv.. realised that my tv is 55inches so i would need 2 packs to go all the way around the edge. 80 quid for lights? mmm... maybe not.... they do look really cool though. really bright.
