  ?
I'm trying to do a dash conversion. Using a 0.2mm solder and i cant for the life of me get the old led's out! Any ideas? I dont want to risk applying too much pressure or damaging the board.

Size of LED is PLCC2 type??

Add some solder to the joint FIRST, then using your tweezers lightly pull up that side....then move to the other side...add solder to the joint and pull up that side. Repeat until the LED is off.

Because in factory processes they use flux free solder and a minimal amoun of it.

You then apply heat to it but the heat doesn't flow through the whole pad.

When you add solder to it the flux in the solder helps as a kind of catalyst and flows onto the whole pad making it easier to remove.

In theory. Not always true on certain SMD parts!
