levelling the car

A lot of people on here often talk about buying coilovers just to level out the ride height of their cars. I was just wondering wot would happen if you fitted 40mm springs on the front and 60mm sprins on the rear.
Would this work or make the car extremely unsafe?

It would make the car unsafe. I would have thought the other way round would make it look better but still not recommended.
