I've been looking at buying a clio 182 and they typically all have 100-120k miles on them. How many miles can they generally go for?
Also that service schedule is what to look for when buying one, if you buy from a member on here it should have been looked after, usually from the way they word an advert and how much info they provide will tell you if it's been looked after or not.
If I was buying one again (and I often think about it) I would get one with no service history or evidence that the belts are done. Providing it drove straight and felt strong.Would you avoid those without FSH
the wife's 172 has done touch over 200,000 now, uses a little bit of oil and gets it's head kicked in when i drive it...
I do it every year.how often should you be servicing the cars.. i try and do it every 10k.
Interesting read, I'm looking at Clio's at around this mileage and read a few similar threads to this which put my mind at ease.
I saw one today with 110k miles which had the belts/pulleys done 2 years/15k miles ago but the engine was making that diesel noise when warm between idle and 2,000(ish) rpm that I'm guessing means the dephaser is on the way out...
Hypothetically, if you were to pick this car up, would you wait 2 years and change everything, or would you replace belts, pulleys and dephaser asap?
Dephaser is already gone if it's making the diesel noise. That's all it'll do though, it's a common cost cutting exercise (doing the belts but not the pulley).Interesting read, I'm looking at Clio's at around this mileage and read a few similar threads to this which put my mind at ease.
