Lifespan of Toyo R888s?

  172 cup
I know it differs and depends entirely on the driver but in track driving, how many track days could i get out of a set? That is assuming i can get more than one track days worth lol. These http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=2199

I would like to think i could get a few days driving out of them because at £450 a set in 16", theyre not cheap

Also, i understand that there are different compounds available, but on KTR they only list the one variant and dont state what compound it is.

Could someone explain the different compounds available, obviously harder compounds-less grip-last longer and visa versa with softer compounds, but what are the different code names or whatever for the diff compounds??
:approve:

get them from camskill tyres. Free delivery and are cheapest online. If not they will beat any price. Just got mine from there :)

around 4 track days out of the front tyres my record was 2 track days out of the front tyres but that was spa it seems to be quite hard on tyres the rears last for ages

yeah you will get quite a few days assuming its on good tracks, use them on some airfield travk days though and they will be a real mess.

camskills are cheap and also mat from shed motorsport is a member on here he is selling sets cheap.

i can vouch for them too, difficult to get hold of by phone but be persistant! very very cheap.

what kind of handling diff does the harder compound over the medium give. i would have guessed the med compound would heat up quicker but wear quicker.
would the harder compound last a lot longer and will the temps get up on a road car being used on track? i have never used r888 so am just wondering, have used slicks before med compound.

note the warning that toyo issued about storing them for a while in a cold garage. They can deteriate and fail at speed.

they only do the hard or soft compound but i only get 4 trackdays out of the hard compound so you would not get much out of the soft
